The Story of Southfield Primary Academy

One of three schools in the The Pioneer Learning Trust, Southfield Primary Academy in Luton is a school where ‘learning comes to life’. Their team of motivated and committed staff care about and nurture for the needs of all their pupils, helping them to develop and realise their full potential. John Taylor is the IT Technician for the school and wider trust, overseeing the day to day running of their IT facilities. John was involved with the implementation of their EntrySign system and we asked him about Southfield Primary Academy’s journey as an EntrySign customer.

The Challenge

Prior to Southfield Primary Academy having EntrySign, they had a paper-based visitor book in their reception area. The school wanted to modernise their approach to visitor management and have better access to trends in people movement. They also wanted to make their sign in and out process more efficient and streamlined and have a system that could integrate with their existing MIS system. This was not possible with a paper-based visitor book, posing additional issues around data privacy, security and accuracy.
